Over the weekend Southwest Montana had some chilly arctic air with a northwest flow drop snow all over the area.  Bridger Bowl got over 6 feet of snow over 3 days.  Biggest one day dump of 26 inches since 2007!  Great skiing and riding make for water in the rivers this spring and summer.
Wes got out for the beautiful Brown trout above on one of our local creeks, and a day on the Upper Madison as you can see with the towering mountain vistas in the background.  You can always catch those 'best of the day' hours when the sun is out, winds down and fish eating.  Some decent Midge fishing on the surface and under depending on the wind.  Thanks Bozeman Reels for making us look good and flawless preformance even in freezing temps.  Testing the drag systems in all weather conditions!

Welcome to Dead Drift Adventures revamped website and blog.  Great photography from Wes and great content help and support to Hibu, our web hosts.  Winter in Montana this year has been dynamic as always, snow, wind, then sun and warm temps, and do it all over again.
Just wait 10 minutes and the weather will change around here.  All of us are staying busy with our winter work ski patrolling, slope side photography, property management, etc.  On those quite cold evenings though when the kiddo is put to bed, I find myself sorting flys, and getting fishing gear organized for the spring already.  March is not that far away!

I'm nursing a knee injury from skiing and am off skis for a few weeks, so I have some time to sharpen hooks and organize my flyboxes.
Unfortunately no winter angling for me until early March when I'll be heading up to the Missouri River.
Stay tuned for more pics, info and thoughts as winter slowly slides into spring...stay healthy everyone and enjoy every moment!
Cheers
Phil
